Children's Dance

Starting with the Children's Dance Basics I class, children from around the age of 6 or 7 begin to explore the fundamental techniques of dance in an age-appropriate and playful way. The objective of the basic classes is to prepare the children to later attend classes of all styles such as Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Commercial, and Musical.

For this, fundamentals must be established that later allow the child to rely on their body and mind in all dance styles: posture, dance technique for jumps, spins, acrobatics, fitness, music and partner work, choreography, handling of costumes and rehearsals, and much more.

Our "Children's Dance Basics" offer various styles as a comprehensive whole for children. The holistic approach combines classical dance styles (Ballet, Character Dance, Jazz) with modern styles (Acrobatics, Modern, Show), to experience and promote the physical, cognitive, and psychological fundamentals of children through movement as a comprehensive concept.

In accordance with the child's growth, emphasis is primarily placed on anatomical correctness to support the child's development without causing harm. A child can spend several years in the basic classes, regardless of their age, and develop according to their individual abilities. Only when the child truly masters the basic techniques does it make sense to move them up to avoid overwhelming them physically, emotionally, and mentally.

The classes last 60 minutes (Children's Dance 1) or 75 minutes (Children's Dance 2, formerly "Performance Class") per session and, apart from holidays and school vacations, take place once a week for each booked course. The mandatory course duration is 8 months and is divided into two semesters (October to January and March to June). In June, the school year concludes with a large, public theater production.

Acrobatics is suitable as a course combination for 2 training sessions per week.
